On average in Malaysia, a brush set can cost up to RM1000, so you need to know how to take care of them.

Washing your brushes will only take a few minutes and if you do it before you sleep, it will be nice and dry for use the next morning. Gather all your brushes and use only shampoo for cleaning them. No matter whether the bristles are synthetic or natural fur, use only shampoo and do not use conditioner.

Rinse the brushes thoroughly under warm, running water. It is advisable you wash each brush one at the time but you can also combine the smaller brushes and wash them together. Wet the brushes first before adding 2 drops of shampoo directly to the brushes.

Immediately use a circular motion and rub the brush in the palm of your hand. Do not rub it hard as it will spoil your precious brushes. Remember to use only shampoo and not conditioner.

Remember to rinse the brushes completely after washing it to make sure no soap residue is left on the brushes. Rinse the bristles under the water while gently massaging them with your fingertips.

The next step will be removing the excess water from the brushes by squeezing the brushes from base to tip. Use a dry towel to make this process easier and do not squeeze them too hard because you might pull out the hairs from the brushes. Do not use a hair dryer to make this process faster, it is best to squeeze the water out and then just let it dry naturally to preserve the texture of the bristles.

Before using the brushes again, double check the brushes to make sure they are completely dry and clean. Remember having clean brushes make you more professional and tidy and will boost up your reputation among your customers.
